The Cathedral Multi Flue Chimney Cap

Available in Copper, Lead Coated Copper, Freedom Gray, Stainless Steel, Aluminum and Steel

This multi flue chimney cap features a convex roof with decorative standing seams. It is made to size with a radius roof in the shape of 75% of the dimension on the screen side portion.
The radius of the roof changes with the size of your cap, but is as consistent on the look as possible.
Roof will feature seams as needed due to sheet stock sizing. There is no way around this.
This chimney cap be side mounted or top mounted.
Copper or aluminum screen (expanded metal) is used to allow for ventilation.
The roof is removable to allow for cleaning. This is done by removing the 4 corner bolts that mount the roof to the frame. This means the roof will normally come out in one piece. For large caps, this task may require 2 people.
As seen in images and submittal, this cap vents on 2 sides only, rather than on all 4 as more standard chimney caps. Prior to ordering, ensure this chimney cap will provide enough ventilation for your application.
This product is cut by laser to ensure a perfect fitting.
Custom designs, sizes and different materials may be available. Please contact us for pricing. Made in the USA.

Mounting: Top Mount vs. Side Mount Chimney Caps.

Top Mount: A top mount chimney cap is ideally used on irregular shape chimneys, those with out of square corners or made out of stones for example. It can also be used when a cap smaller than the chimney itself is desired, or simply if its visually preferred, when the vertical side skirt portion present on side mount caps is not a desired feature. Typically, a top mounted cap will be either soldered to an existing chase cover when present, or attached via tapcons, screws, anchors or construction adhesive. If a chase cover is not present, adhesive is the most common way to install a top mounted chimney cap because there is no drilling through the top of the chimney, which is normally not desirable as it is something that would need to be waterproofed.
Side Mount: An outside mount chimney cap features a vertical mounting skirt covering part of the side of the chimney, usually around 3.5". This is the ideal way to mount a chimney cap in most instances, as it covers the whole top of the chimney, protecting it against the weather. Just like a top mount, this can be mounted via screws, masonry pins / anchors or tapcons, however, unlike a top mount cap, this is to be mounted from the side, through the vertical side portion of the chimney cap base which can be easily drilled. It can also be mounted via construction adhesive added to the top of the chimney, although that is not as common.
Side mounting is ideal in most situations if possible.
To see the difference between both, fill out the ordering form above and look at the changing main image when selecting the mounting type.

Ordering Instructions
  • A - Please pick the approximate width and length (fields 3 and 4). These fields are used to calculate the price of your chimney cap.
Be sure to input your dimensions in the correct fields, as this cap features screen only on the 2 sides marked as "width" / (A).
  • B - Please do not place an order for a chimney cap out of square. Instead, contact us for a quote. A template or sketch may be necessary.
It is also common to order square caps and use shims for installation on out of square chimneys.
