Commercial Box Gutters
Commercial Box Gutters - Style A
Choose from our extensive line of gutters styles and accessories
Box Gutters get their name because of their shape. There are many different styles, and since box gutters are manually formed, standard profiles can be customized, and new profiles can be crated for special orders.
Commercial vs. Industrial vs. Residential

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions
What is the appeal of box gutters?
A more modern look.
Are Box Gutters better?
They can carry more than similar size half round gutters for example, but are not necessirly better or worse in any way.
How do I join two pieces of gutter?
To put 2 lengths of gutter together, simply cut back the front bead / lip of one of the gutter lengths by 1" or more depending on your needs. Do the same for the hem in the back if present. Cut where needed to create tabs. Overlap the 2 lengths of the gutter and join them by soldering if possible, or with zip screws / rivets and sealer if not. Coupling pieces can be manufactured if needed. Keep in mind that using a coupling piece like a cover plate gives the appearance of 2 seams. Splice plates can also be manufactured. Unlike cover plates, these sit on the inside of the gutter, giving the appearance of one seam, like overlapping 2 gutter lengths. Both are special order items.
How are miters attached?
Same as attaching 2 lengths of gutter.
Are miters needed?
Miters are not needed, they are simply used to make installation much faster. However, mitering the actual ends of gutter lengths, and making them meet, creates a nicer looking miter, since instead of 3 visible seams, only one would exist.
Most don't opt to miter the lengths of a gutter because it takes much longer, and if a mistake is made, it can effetely ruin a length of gutter.
What are the available lengths for box gutters?
Reverse Bead gutters are roll formed (5" and 6"), which means they are made from coil stock fed through a machine. This allows for essentially "infinite lengths". However, for shipping purposes, we only offer 10' and 20', unless picked up. 7" and 8" are manually formed, and available in 10' or 19.5'.
Euro Bead gutters and Double Bead Gutters are manually formed as well, and available in 10' and 19.5'.
What is the best material for gutters?
The one that achieves the look you're going for.
Soldered seams are better, and create a longer lasting system, specially in areas with lots of rain and snow. Those are, copper, lead coated copper, freedom gray and zinc.
Galvanized and bonderized can be soldered but rust quicker than Galvalume metals.
What size downspout should I use?
The typical, but not necessarily a rule, is to use 2x3 with 5", 3x4 with 6" and 4x5 with 7".
How are half round gutters measured?
By measuring the depth, without including the bead(s).
