Euro Bead Half Round Gutters
Euro Bead Half-Round Gutters
Traditional Bead - Choose from our extensive line of gutters and accessories
Euro Bead gutters or Traditional Bead gutters get their name because of the shape of their bead, which curls outwards rather than inwards, like a reverse bead gutter. For this reason, raw materials are normally used, or materials that are coated on both sides, since the finish inside of the gutter is exposed on the outside of the bead.
At K&M Sheet Metal and Gutter Supply, we offer our Euro Gutters in 10′ and 19.5'.
We also offer custom lengths, colors and materials along with downspouts, elbows, hangers, end caps, outlets and any other gutter accessories needed.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Euro Bead and Reverse Bead?
Euro Bead/Traditional Bead gutters were and still are manually made by rolling a piece of metal to achieve the shape of the gutter, then curling the front bead outwards. Because this bead is curled outwards, it exposes the unfinished side of the metal (for painted materials), which is why the Reverse Bead gutter was developed. It allows for painted material, such as aluminum or steel to be used, with the bead being reversed, curling in.
How do I join two pieces of gutter?
To put 2 lengths of gutter together, simply cut back the front bead / lip of one of the gutter lengths by 1" or more depending on your needs. Do the same for the hem in the back if present. Cut where needed to create tabs. Overlap the 2 lengths of the gutter and join them by soldering if possible, or with zip screws / rivets and sealer if not. Coupling pieces can be manufactured if needed. Keep in mind that using a coupling piece like a cover plate gives the appearance of 2 seams. Splice plates can also be manufactured. Unlike cover plates, these sit on the inside of the gutter, giving the appearance of one seam, like overlapping 2 gutter lengths. Both are special order items.
How are miters attached?
Same as attaching 2 lengths of gutter.
Are miters needed?
Miters are not needed, they are simply used to make installation much faster. However, mitering the actual ends of gutter lengths, and making them meet, creates a nicer looking miter, since instead of 3 visible seams, only one would exist.
Most don't opt to miter the lengths of a gutter because it takes much longer, and if a mistake is made, it can effetely ruin a length of gutter.
What are the available lengths for half round gutters?
Euro bead gutters are manually formed, therefore these are available in 10' or 19.5'.
What is the best material for gutters?
The one that achieves the look you're going for.
Soldered seams are better, and create a longer lasting system, specially in areas with lots of rain and snow. Those are, copper, lead coated copper, freedom gray and zinc.
Galvanized and bonderized can be soldered but rust quicker than Galvalume metals.
What size downspout needs to be used with half round gutters?
The typical installation method is: 3" downspouts with 5" gutters, 4" with 6", 5" with 7" and 6" with 8". However, this is not a rule and larger or smaller downspouts can be used, as long as they are smaller than the depth of the gutter.
How are half round gutters measured?
By measuring the depth, without including the bead(s).
